The Quraysh (Meccans) had approached Banu Qurayza (Jews) for support in the battle against Muhammad but Qurayza had remained neutral during the course of conflict. On the contrary, the Jews had helped Muhammad in saving his men by providing material assistance to him for digging trenches which proved vital for the survival of Muslims.
